As
I enter my cathedral, I am awed by the beauty surrounding me. Pillars
stand sentry, canopies arching high. The walls are draped in leaves,
with patches of blue. The floor, carpeted in shades of green, is
splashed with white and lavender.
The
orchestral music begins.
The high piccolo of the birds resounds
against the background of stillness. Quiet thrums and stirs. The
chitter of squirrels adds harmony to this symphony.
My
heart wings heavenward. My worries subdued. My aches released. My
praise joins the orchestra.
I
remind myself to return often to these woods.
My
cathedral.
“I
have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory.”
Psalm
63:2
