I
was dredging up the old.
Dwelling
upon the hurts I'd caused. The damage I'd done.
I
was startled by Truth.
There
on the path, shadows cleaved. Amidst the shadows, light cast a heart.
Truth
spoke, “Light casts out the dark. Be done with shadows. I remember
your sins no more.”
There
was power in that heart-of-light. Shed blood power. Here was
forgiveness, startling. Cleaving the darkness. Dispelling the doom.
God
is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 1John 1:5
Shadows
have no substance. Neither do these dredged things.
I
cast them away. And turn my face to the Light. Cleansed and whole.
I
have become light to the world . Matthew 5:14
