Turning

I forget it is the turning away that is birthed.
And the turning towards is learned.
I assume each one will follow.
Each will heed.
And am always surprised when they do not.
Do not love.
Do not worship.
Do not obey.
I can not fathom such deviation.
Yet do I not do the same?
Purposely turn. Away.
When will I learn?
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way.” Isaiah 53:6.
All have twisted away from God.
Gone in a different direction.
Isn’t that why He came?
To free us from such movement? Away?
"Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
He came and set His people free." Luke 1:68 Message
He came to free us from the endless twisting.
I fall to my knees once more.
Confessing. Admitting.
I am quick to turn. Away.
And I am in need. Of a Savior.
Born anew in my heart today.
"Today, in the city of David, a Savior is born..." Luke 2:11
I join the angels singing.
"Glory to God in the highest!" Luke 2:14
