There was a season when I brought home fresh cow's milk from the Amish.
We had to shake the milk jug before using it, otherwise the cream sat on top.
The longer the milk sits, the more the cream rises.
The rich, the best, rises only when sitting still.
There
were times when I wanted that white to sit, undisturbed. I needed that
risen wealth for a better purpose:butter or ice cream.
Today is a day when I feel all shook up. Agitated.
I am in need of sitting. Being still. Allowing the richness of God, the abundance of His word to rise.
I need the cream of Truth for grace. For peace.
And the longer I am settled, the more I am still, the cream rises.
And I am satisfied.
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
