The Desk

My desk, it's covered with the imperfect. Smatterings of ideas and colors. The used and the worn out. The useful and the useless. A masterpiece, in all its splendor and nothingness. I find joy in the process of making it so. And refreshment.

I love to use these blotters as backgrounds or incorporate parts of them in my next project. I delight in the fact that these smatterings and mess-ups become a part of the lovely.
I long to color my world, my life, in the same way. I would paint and splatter, dreaming and trying the new, the different.
In a world upside-down with envy, with pride, with "I-have-to-get-it-right!" and trying harder, I love my desk. I love the breath of fresh air, wafting from its edges. I find solace in the haven of "Try this !" and "Oops!", and in the hopes and accomplishments. Here, curled up at my desk, away in the craft room, I have freedom. To do. To attempt. To succeed. To fail.
All without fear.
There is room here, to pour out my heart in creative, unexpected ways. I can be bold. I can love others and simply be me.

It all fits together, doesn't it?
The splotches.
The mess-ups.
The amazing.
The finished.
They are all pieced together by the Creator of all, to make one lovely life, that He delights in.
Mine.
It is time to step out fearlessly, boldly, to splash my uniqueness upon the pages of my world. It is time to try, and to fail. To attempt, and to succeed.
It is time to be me. And it will be so lovely. It will be a masterpiece.

"We are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew, in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things planned for us long ago. "  Ephesians 2:10 NLT
