Let Him

Luke 9:23 Message
Then He told them what they could expect for themselves:
"Anyone who intends to come with Me has to let Me lead.
You're not in the driver's seat--- I am.
Don't run from suffering; embrace it.
Follow Me and I will show you how."

Let Me lead.
Let Me.
Let.
Allow. Permit. Grant the privilege to.
Permit Jesus. The King of kings. The Lover of my soul. The Shepherd of my heart.
Grant Him the privilege of leading. Me.
That requires a willingness on my part. An acknowledgement.
Of who He is.
Of where He is seated.
In the driver's seat. The driver is the one responsible. To keep an eye out. To keep me safe. To steer the car in the right direction in order to reach our destination. Only He can determine how fast or slow we will drive. How soon before we arrive.
This is what is expected: to let Him. Drive. Lead. Determine. My journey. Where it will take me.
If I am willing, to follow, He will show me how to endure, even the bumpiest of roads. How to sit quietly, when He makes turns, unexpected.
He will show me how, to allow Him.
I intend to let Him. Lead.
